Belu and Green Key : a perfectly sustainable partnership.

Green Key and Belu partner in Sustainability

Belu has been helping hospitality to be more sustainable since our very first bottles were filled...

We always take a keen interest in organisations with similar goals to ours and leading sustainability eco-label Green Key is one which, over the last couple of decades, has inspired and supported 1000’s of hospitality venues on their journeys towards sustainability. We’ve now started a partnership with them and find it’s not just sustainability for hospitality that we have in common.

Awarded to ‘hospitality and tourism facilities achieving excellence in environmental responsibility and sustainable operations,’ Green Key certifications are internationally recognised, independently verified and highly sought-after.

Managed in England by environmental charity, Keep Britain Tidy, not-for-profit Green Key is very much aligned with Belu’s sustainability goals. Whilst championing ‘Reduce, Re-use, Recycle’ and helping Green Key members to improve their sustainability credentials, we’re looking forward to supporting Green Key with insight and ideas, working collaboratively towards the SDG’s and sharing the sustainability and business benefits of switching to Belu Filter in Action as the most sustainable chilled, still and sparkling water solution for guests. And we’re also looking forward to meeting some of their hugely inspirational members.

Green Key brings together more than 4000 hotels and hospitality venues worldwide, who comply with their environmental criteria and are independently verified through regular on site visits. There are 130 very specific criteria to fulfil across 13 categories, so achieving Green Key status is definitely something to be proud of.

Belu and Green Key

It’s not just our focus on helping businesses increase their sustainability credentials which we share with Green Key.

Some of the exceptional hospitality businesses who have chosen Belu Water Filtration systems and Belu ethically bottled mineral water are already amongst their accredited hotels.

One such hotel group is Inhabit Hotels.  Inhabit Southwick Street and Inhabit Queen’s Gardens are amongst the best hotels in West London, delivering a relaxed atmosphere, nourishing food, and staff that share a passion for healthy living. Every detail aims to optimise wellness and make the world a better place – from natural materials to sustainable practices, holistic activities, partnerships with social enterprises, and contemplative art. Inhabit hotels partner with a whole host of like-minded social enterprises – Belu being one of them.

The team at Inhabit fill a bottle of chilled Belu water for guests as they arrive and then guests are invited to refill these throughout their stay as many times as they need at the hotel’s refill stations. Inhabit hotels have Belu filtered water taps serving chilled still and sparkling water, on each floor, so there’s no need for any single use bottles. Inhabit’s dedication to sustainability across the business makes them exactly the kind of hospitality venue which Green Key are keen to highlight.

Another Green Key member is a luxury 5-star hotel in London that encapsulates the creative spirit of Shoreditch. Montcalm East, Autograph collection was an early adopter of Belu self-serve filtered water stations for each floor. Reducing waste and carbon footprint, Belu’s social enterprise model delivers 100% net profit to WaterAid as well as making life easier (and better hydrated) for guests and staff. For Moncalm, Belu Filter in Action really is a win-win and part of the ethos which has secured their Green Key.
